We are pleased to share with you the progress of our homebred yearlings. This weekend we had some time to take a look at our young prospects and we are very happy with the way that they are developing. 

All three colts are out of our promising mare Comthago’s Jewel - stemming back to Haya Loma N who is still successfully competing at the highest level with Alessandra Volpi. 

We are delighted with the quality that our small scale breeding programme is producing and look forward to the future with our homebreds.

We are pleased to announce the sale of Doris V Z to a top stable in Ireland.

Purchased from the breeder as an unbroken 4yo, he went on to finish 🥇1st & 🥈2nd in the Van Mossel Cup Style and Performance in Schijndel, NL later that year and this year won the Spring 5yo Championship in the UK.  
Throughout his short time with us he showed unbelievable talent and all the attributes to make a 5* horse in the future. 

We wish the new owners the best of luck with him and look forward to following his progress. 🤩

Horse Sale : Doris V Z

A good day at Weston Lawns for their Young Horse Show on Friday. It was a show we aimed our 4yos and less experienced 5yos at as the big arena is great to give them experience for later on in the year. 

With Michael picking up an injury earlier in the week Zoe had to take on the ride of three of the horses for the first time. Four and five year olds aren’t Zoe’s normal choice of ride but due to Michael’s fantastic training the transition was no problem. 

We were very pleased with their performances with clears and equal 1st placings achieved by all of the 4yos - Tangeloma, Doris V Z & Pour Vous La Best and our 5yo Ofira Q.

Her mother jumped 1.40 and she has all the quality and talent to surpass that.

Very balanced and rideable, showing a good jumping technique with a trainable brain. 

She has been placed in a 4yo class and ready to be aimed at a championship later on in the year.

We think she will then go on to be a top level competition horse.

Very easy to manage so could suit a younger/amateur rider looking to produce their next star or easily shine in a professional stable.

Has also XC schooled proving brave and willing.

We love using Jenkinson’s shavings for our horses, at home or away we can be certain our horses are bedded on the best quality shavings. We can be confident that their health isn’t compromised by unwanted dust particles entering their systems and that they are comfortable and dry in their stables.

Cantrell Arenas have been a big part of our upgrades to the farm over the years. 

The first job undertaken for us was on our original 60x30m sand and rubber arena where the sand had become very hard on the base over the years and there was a drainage issue at one end. Darren did a fantastic job resurrecting the surface and repairing the drainage issue before we decided to upgrade the size of the arena, fencing and surface a few years later. This gave us a NEW 70x35m sand and fibre arena in 2017. 
In 2021 we decided to upgrade again, this time extending the outdoor arena to ~ 70x75m keeping the existing surface and topping up with A LOT more Premium sand and fibre surface to complete the job. The finish of the kick boards, landscaping and drainage are to a fantastically high standard and we are delighted with the results of the upgrade. 
During the period of working with Darren he also provided us with more sand and fibre surface which was originally used in our indoor arena but has now been relocated to our lunge arena. Darren also completed the groundwork for our horse walker upgrade including sourcing and laying of the concrete and all clay removal from site as well as providing more sand and fibre to go in the grids for the final surface on the 20m track.
