Loma De Reve LH

We are pleased to announce that from the results of the 5yo Final at the Wildcard Qualifier in Schijndel, NL a few weeks ago, that homebred Comthago’s Jewel and stable mate Thor van de Vlasbloemhoeve have qualified to compete in Lanaken, BE at the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championships for Young Horses. 

This means that both Michael & Zoe will be competing this year. 

We are also very proud that this is the third year running that we have had homebreds qualify for this prestigious event. 

2022 saw Cornet’s Ghost - Cornet Obolensky x Balou du Rouet attend for the 5yo class, he also featured there in 2023 as a 6yo too. 
Last year it was the turn of Comthago’s Jewel’s half brother Loma de Reve LH - Malito de Reve x Emerald also as a 5yo. 
Zoe has also ridden there in the 7yo classes in 2022 with Katania who now jumps 1m60 classes and Labella V who is the mother of our up and coming star 4yo Doris V Z. 

Comthago’s Jewel was also selected for the AES team to compete in Valkenswaard the following weekend but unfortunately due to the rules she was not allowed to compete at both events but Zoe will attend the show for the AES team with her 7yo stallion Mowgli C - Hermantico x Charisma. 

At the start of the year we carefully planned the season and set these two events as our main goals for the end of the summer months and we are delighted that the plan came together. 

We hope to be able to bring you more good news in a couple of weeks with our results from these two prestigious shows.

We are delighted with the progress of our 5yo homebred mare Comthago’s Jewel.

It’s nice to have Michael back in the saddle after his knee injury and continuing to produce our next future stars.

We have been using GAIN horse feeds for a number of years at Lambley House and know it plays a huge part in supporting our horses’ diet. 
All stabled horses receive the basic ration of Opti-care Balancer alongside our chosen fibre of ‘Dengie Alfa A Oil’ twice a day. We also feed this to our breeding mares & youngstock to support their systems too. 
The balancer includes - 
▪️20% protein low starch oat free balancer with elevated minerals and vitamins.
▪️Low feed rate provides vital amino acids, minerals and vitamins while controlling energy supply.
▪️Extra energy can be supplied by adding in oats or a reduced quantity of a suitable GAIN feed.
▪️Excellent for broodmares to meet mineral and vitamin requirements at all stages.
▪️Ideal for foals, weanlings and yearlings not requiring further condition.
▪️Low starch levels result in lower glycemic responses to feed and thereby decrease possible negative effects of insulin and growth hormone spikes during growth.
▪️Low starch levels provide nutritional support for horses and ponies prone to laminitis.
▪️Low starch and oat free composition will help support a positive attitude.
▪️Soya bean meal provides excellent quality protein for skeletal development and lactation.

We also use Freedom Mix for a select few horses which need some extra condition day to day or to support extra nutritional requirements when travelling or competing more regularly. It is a high oil, high fibre, low starch high performance feed. 
Features include -

▪️Linseed and soya oils provide a nutritional balance of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids.

It was a nice short drive from Lummen to Sentower Park for the second week of our 🇧🇪Belgian trip and we crossed our fingers that we were in for a drier week🤞🏻🙏🏼.

Mowgli C started things off with a good clear in the 7yo and Thor van de Vlasbloemhoeve had our first podium finish of the weekend picking up a 🥉 third place in the 5yos. 
Friday was a good day with all of the horses going clear or picking up a placing but the weather took a turn for the worse and poured ☔️ all day so 🐴Mowgli took the opportunity to stay in 🛌 bed! 
🐴Thor picked up 4th in the 5yo, Nevis Field was 5th in the 6yo, Malibu RAG 12th in the 1* 1m30 & Cornet’s Ghost stepped up for a clear in the 2* 1m35. 

For the weekend the weather had improved but 🐴Malibu picked up a cut in the warm-up for the 1* Grand Prix so was unable to jump so it was all down to 🐴Thor on Sunday 😬. He stepped up to jump a fantastic double clear in the 5yo Grand Prix to take the win 🏆🥇 finishing off a great 2 weeks for him after his double clear the week before in Lummen too. 

We head home now for a few weeks to spend a bit of time with the younger horses before the older ones head to Addington in June. Hoping to see the ☀️ sun in the next few weeks too!

Cantrell Arenas have been a big part of our upgrades to the farm over the years. 

The first job undertaken for us was on our original 60x30m sand and rubber arena where the sand had become very hard on the base over the years and there was a drainage issue at one end. Darren did a fantastic job resurrecting the surface and repairing the drainage issue before we decided to upgrade the size of the arena, fencing and surface a few years later. This gave us a NEW 70x35m sand and fibre arena in 2017. 
In 2021 we decided to upgrade again, this time extending the outdoor arena to ~ 70x75m keeping the existing surface and topping up with A LOT more Premium sand and fibre surface to complete the job. The finish of the kick boards, landscaping and drainage are to a fantastically high standard and we are delighted with the results of the upgrade. 
During the period of working with Darren he also provided us with more sand and fibre surface which was originally used in our indoor arena but has now been relocated to our lunge arena. Darren also completed the groundwork for our horse walker upgrade including sourcing and laying of the concrete and all clay removal from site as well as providing more sand and fibre to go in the grids for the final surface on the 20m track.

Michael is a UKCC level 3 approved showjumping coach. He is fully insured and up to date with emergency first aid.

He is able to offer a wide range of training from a one off lesson to an annual plan tailored to the individual and their horse. At competition training is also available.
