We had an enjoyable week at Arena UK for their Major Show Jumping Championships. We took 9 horses over the 6 days and it was nice to make the short commute everyday, sometimes twice a day!
New recruits 🐴Aktion & 🐴Cordelia had their first trip out for the clear round and 🐴Rita had a nice trip out after her summer break too.
We made the most of the opportunity to contest the young horse classes with 5yo 🐴Tangeloma and our 6yos 🐴Thor, 🐴Kuyano & 🐴Comthago’s Jewel - where she picked up 6th place in the final.
🐴Cornet’s Ghost was happy to make the short journey and return home to his own bed 🛏️💤 every night after jumping clear in his 3 classes and just an unlucky fault at the end of the Grand Prix.
And after a last minute notification of an OC Wildcard for the 🌍World Breeding Championships in Lanaken, homebred 🐴Loma de Reve LH made a quick trip too after enjoying a little bit of downtime for the past three weeks. He didn’t disappoint with a clear in the 1m30 and the 7yo class.
A fantastic job 👏🏻 done by the whole team at Arena UK with fantastic courses all week and ground conditions, even whilst battling slightly inclement weather ☔️🌪️ at the beginning of the show! 😅
A quick turnaround to head to Belgium 🇧🇪 early on Tuesday morning! Wish us luck 🤞🏻🍀
August is a time for end of summer young horse finals and we are pleased with the results of our homebreds.
Our stallion 🐴Tangeloma finished with a double clear and 4th place in the Weston Lawns 5yo Championship. 🇬🇧
🐴Comthago’s Jewel who was a new ride for Zoe at this show & 🐴Loma de Reve LH both made the finals of the 6&7yo classes at the Van Mossel Cup, Schijndel in NL. 🇳🇱With 🐴Loma de Reve LH picking up a fantastic podium result a few weeks before in the 2* 1m40 final in Ghlin in Belgium. 🇧🇪
Unfortunately we haven’t secured any tickets for the 🌍World Championships in Lanaken this year but look towards the development of the horses over the next 12 months.
We are pleased to share with you the progress of our homebred yearlings. This weekend we had some time to take a look at our young prospects and we are very happy with the way that they are developing.
All three colts are out of our promising mare Comthago’s Jewel - stemming back to Haya Loma N who is still successfully competing at the highest level with Alessandra Volpi.
We are delighted with the quality that our small scale breeding programme is producing and look forward to the future with our homebreds.
