Welcome to Lambley House Sport Horses

As we come to the end of the longest, and coldest❄️ (we hope!) month of the year we can reflect on the good start to the season that we have had. 

Although plenty of frost and snow has stopped play a few times we’ve still managed to contest a lot of our local shows with our team of horses. 
Michael has been building up the younger ones gaining very consistent results, which is currently being rewarded by the Equine Products UK Ltd league at Vale View.

We are delighted to be supported by Equine Products UK again this year, helping us to keep our horses in top shape whilst training and competing in the 🇬🇧UK & 🇪🇺Europe.  

🩶 In the Silver League Michael currently holds 2️⃣nd place on 🐴Vinnie and =5️⃣th on 🐴Cordelia. 

💛 In the Gold League 🐴Vinnie is also in 6️⃣th place. 

A great way to see how the horses are developing up the levels ready for the season ahead. 

Zoe has also been 🇬🇧UK based this month developing 🐴Bruce & 🐴Doug in the 1m30-1m40 classes ready for their outdoor season to get underway at the end of February and our young stallion 🐴Hutch has been gaining his Newcomers and Foxhunter double clears for the summer qualifiers. 

🐴Bruce also picked up a qualification at the Arena UK Winter Classic for RIHS at Hickstead in the summer.

💥Happy New Year🎆 … better late than never!

As we head into Autumn 🍂🍁 it’s nice to have time to reflect on the development of our homebred horses that are still in our stables. 

1️⃣First up sees 5yo AES licenced stallion 🐴Tangeloma gaining the first few of his newcomers double clears and making the step up to Foxhunter - 1m20 with ease also gaining his first double clear at that level. In the new year we await the arrival of his first offspring 🐣 and we are excited for his progression as a 6yo. 

2️⃣His 6yo half sister 🐴Comthago’s Jewel 💎 has easily made the step up to 1m30 winning 🥇at her first round at this level in the UK. After having a busy couple of years producing the next crop of hombreds via embryo transfer for us, it’s been nice to spend the summer building her up at the shows and giving her a bit more exposure. 

3️⃣Following on the bloodlines of 🐴Haya Loma N, we have her first born 7yo 🐴Loma de Reve LH. After showing us some very good results over the summer including 🥉3rd place in a very competitive 2* 1m40 jump off class and gaining an OC Wildcard entry into the World Breeding Championships in Lanaken 🇧🇪 he has enjoyed a nice rest and will now continue to jump at 1m40 level for the rest of the year. Next year we hope to see him make the step to 1m45 and Ranking Classes. 

➡️From Horsequest to Top Level⬅️ 
We are very thankful to have been part of the production and to have had 🐴Haya Loma N as part of our breeding programme. We hope to be able to continue her bloodlines on through her talented offspring for years to come.

4️⃣The oldest of our homebred bunch yet to 🦅fly the nest is 8yo 🐴Cornet’s Ghost. He’s developed very well this year gaining a lot of form and results at 1m40-1m45 level both in the UK 🇬🇧and in Europe 🇪🇺 with the highlight being 2nd 🥈 in the 2* Grand Prix in CSI Liège 🇧🇪 just a few weeks ago. We plan to continue to develop him in 1m45 classes into the new year and look to make the step to 1m50+ in 2026. 

🆕New recruits coming through are 4yo 🐴Flashmir LH and we see the oldest offspring of 🐴Comthago’s Jewel turn 3 years old in the new year - 🐴Jeweloma LH.
The three boys continue to enjoy the grass for a good while longer as they only turn 2 years old in 2026.

We are grateful to be supplied by this TOP quality shavings company. We love using Jenkinson’s shavings for our horses, at home or away we can be certain our horses are bedded on the best quality shavings. We can be confident that their health isn’t compromised by unwanted dust particles entering their systems and that they are comfortable and dry in their stables. 

We use a mixture of Natural & Small flake shavings in our stables.

Cantrell Arenas have been a big part of our upgrades to the farm over the years. 

The first job undertaken for us was on our original 60x30m sand and rubber arena where the sand had become very hard on the base over the years and there was a drainage issue at one end. Darren did a fantastic job resurrecting the surface and repairing the drainage issue before we decided to upgrade the size of the arena, fencing and surface a few years later. This gave us a NEW 70x35m sand and fibre arena in 2017. 
In 2021 we decided to upgrade again, this time extending the outdoor arena to ~ 70x75m keeping the existing surface and topping up with A LOT more Premium sand and fibre surface to complete the job. The finish of the kick boards, landscaping and drainage are to a fantastically high standard and we are delighted with the results of the upgrade. 
During the period of working with Darren he also provided us with more sand and fibre surface which was originally used in our indoor arena but has now been relocated to our lunge arena. Darren also completed the groundwork for our horse walker upgrade including sourcing and laying of the concrete and all clay removal from site as well as providing more sand and fibre to go in the grids for the final surface on the 20m track.
