March is usually the start of better things at Lambley House, the horses can start to go back out in the fields and normally we can get out hacking on the farm…but this March seemed to be a March like no other…starting off with a load more SNOW!
Things looked brighter when we took a trip down to Summerhouse in Gloucestershire and the sun shone. We chose Summerhouse as they had 2 days of jumping up to 1m40 outdoors, which was perfect before we went to Bonheiden the following week. We had some good results with double clears for Willow in the Newcomers both days, Monica got her last Foxhunter double clears with placings and Don & Archie were placed in the 1m30s and 1m40s.
We then went en masse to Bonheiden with Don, Monica & Archie for the Lambley House team joined by Sam Staples & Komet whilst Michael also had Sadie to train. It was a good weekend with Sam picking up good results with Komet in her first international show. Archie had a 3rd, 1st & 9th in the 7yo classes, Monica jumped very well in the 7yos too and Don stepped up to the 1m40s & Ranking classes.
All we can hope for now is ‘April SUN’ and hopefully not too many April showers!
