Lambley House Sport Horses is a family run enterprise, breeding, producing and competing top quality competition horses with excellent temperaments and rideability to enable the rider to fulfil their equestrian ambitions.
Situated at the heart of a small picturesque country estate close to Nottingham, within easy reach of the M1 and A1 motorways, the business has 20 boxes, 3 crew yards, stallion turnout, 60 acres of permanent pasture, indoor and outdoor schools, jumping paddock, all weather gallop, canter track, off-road hacking and a variety of cross country fences including a water jump.
These facilities enable us to offer a very natural yet professional upbringing for the young horses, keeping focus on attention to detail, and allowing us to achieve the full potential of our horses.
Well managed grazing is available for all horses. Mares and youngstock are housed in strawed yards and have access to all year round grazing if conditions allow. This ideal environment allows the youngstock to grow and develop good temperaments and strong limbs. The broodmares have all competed successfully with Michael & Zoe and have been carefully selected for their good, trainable temperaments and excellent confirmation. The stallions are chosen to compliment and enhance their best characteristics in order to produce top quality progeny.
We have found that all the horses benefit from the quiet relaxed environment on the yard while the surrounding working farm gives them a wide experience of different situations to learn from which benefits them when they are away competing.
Michael has evented from the age of 5, finally deciding to make showjumping his main discipline 11 years later. His successes include twice qualifying for the Young Rider Class at the Olympia International Horse Show, coming 8th and 3rd respectively, qualifying for the Newcomers Class at the Horse of the Year Show, and winning the National Grade B Championship (former champions include illustrious names such as Michael Whitaker and Nick Skelton).
Michael has also competed successfully at International level at CSI 2* competitions both at home and abroad with home produced horses.
Zoe took part in all Pony Club events from a young age and rode to success in the Olympia Mini Major competition at the age of 10. She then went on to compete in mainly show jumping for a number of years culminating in Individual & Team Gold medals at the Pony Europeans in 2007. She then evented successfully up to 2* level and has now had success in 4* competitions show jumping. Major career highlights to date include 3rd, 5th & 7th place in the Hickstead Speed Derby, completing the Hickstead Derby and placings in World Ranking Classes.
